Transend worked with Tanzania Posts Corporation to establish a sales and marketing structure. Transport and mail processing, distribution and delivery systems that focused on improving efficiency were also introduced. Subsequently, Transend audited Tanzania Posts’ business performance for the Parastatal Postal Commission.

Transend worked with the Communications Authority of Thailand (CAT) to improve across-town delivery performance in the Bangkok mail area. Follow-on projects have included the installation of a delivery measurement system and the establishment of mail processing and management control procedures. Transend has also conducted a high-level study of the future of CAT’s postal functions with a view to possible privatisation.

Tonga

Transend was contracted to provide postage stamps and related products for Tonga Post. We also reviewed the postal system and implemented the recommendations made. An operational review was followed by further consultancy assignments, including a philatelic review and a UPU-funded review of Tonga’s international business. Transend has also supplied postal equipment to Tonga.

Transend successfully tendered against strong competition for the five-year management contract of Trinidad and Tobago Post (TTPost) – a state-owned enterprise. We had delegated management authority to restructure the business in a project partially funded by a World Bank loan.
