Features of the Transend Vertical Frame

There are four key features that distinguish the Transend frame from other sorting frames:

  1. Future proof design
  2. Ergonomics
  3. Configurability
  4. Mobility

Future Proof Design

Delivery routes, mail volumes and mail type mix vary over time and by delivery office.  Transend's sorting frames have been designed to be easily adjusted to reflect changes in your potal operation.  This helps ensure that the frames (and your investment made in them) are not made redundant.

  • Size and assembly of frames can be tailored to suit the height of the user
  • Frame sizes can be adjusted to suit the size of the delivery route, from large to small volumes
  • Volume growth or growth in the number of delivery points can be managed through the addition of new shelf modules to existing frames
  • Increased operational flexibility catering for different users and the range of sorting needs
  • The frame can augment new sort technology developments such as machine and database sequence sorting.  It can be easily adapted to merge the streams of manual sorted and machine sequenced mail
  • Spaces between shelves produce an open environment enabling workers to see each other and creating the opportunity for cultural change.

Ergonomic Features

Previous models have excellent health and safety records, recognised by both staff and labour unions in New Zealand and overseas.  These features have been retained in the new design.

  • Curved spine frame angles the lower shelves enabling easy access to lower shelves - less stretching, bending and twisting
  • Reduced risk of wrist and hand strain
  • Height-adjustable shelves and work surfaces to suit individual users’ heights.
  • Configuration of frame can be set to suit the arm reach of the individual postman.

Configurability

Transend's frame are modular and each frame can easily be set up to meet the specific needs of an individual delivery route.

  • The base component is a sturdy tubular spine to which adjustable length shelves which easily attached
  • Each spine consists of up to five shelves or four shelves plus a work surface
  • The length of each shelf is adjustable
  • Each shelf can be configured for vertical or horizontal sorting with the simple exchange of the dividers
  • Frame sizes can be adjusted to suit the size of delivery route or sorting need, from large to small volumes
  • Typically two or three spines per workstation
  • Easily assembled and reconfigured - no tools are required as the components easily clip on to the tubular spine.

Mobility

The frame is robust and stable when in place.  It is also lightweight and has been designed to be moved when required.

  • A spine can be easily moved by one person
  • Each spine is equipped with wheels at the rear for instant mobility
  • Frames can be wheeled in and out of the sorting area allowing for the area to be used for other purposes at other times of the day - ideal in small processing centres or when space is limited.
