Operational Assessment

Transend has developed practical tools for assessing the health of postal operations with an approach focused on identifying critical issues and opportunities for improvement, to meet the real needs of individual customer organisations.

Transend’s Assessment Approach

Transend’s priority assessment focus is to make sure we ask the right questions about client organisations in order to identify where operational improvements are both required and possible.

That means looking at the big picture questions such as quality of service and how it compares with that of other postal organisations.  We also consider more detailed questions such as the resourcing and size of delivery routes, or the options for saving sorting time in mail or parcel processing environments. Related areas such as the accuracy and reliability of data, human resources policies and issues, health and safety policies, staff relations and management structures are all assessed in order to provide a robust, holistic view of a client's operation.

After seeking answers to these questions, Transend moves to a detailed analysis of the organisation’s operations, including the important area of international operations and accounting. This health check involves closely reviewing the standards, processes and practices being used throughout the operation. The result closely identifies what is working well and where room exists for genuine improvements.

Operational assessment results are presented in a formal report detailing observations, recommendations and strategies for implementing recommended changes.
